Film Opening Inspirations by Larissa Brown

The setting of our opening sequence is a similar setting to Twilight's

Mise en scene:
Twilights opening sequence has inspired our company's use of mise en scene with the use of trees, grass, sticks and twigs contribute to the enigma we're trying to create. As these objects can be considered to be quite dangerous it helps establish what genre we're using. Our genre being thriller/horror, the low key lighting illustrates the danger and denotes the that someone is in a harmful situation and its supposed to make the audience feel a sense of fright. The costumes use of dark colours contribute to how the characters are feeling; revenge, fright, anger etc.

Camera:
We've used a similar establishing shot of the nature in the setting. It sets the time and establishes the weather. We filmed in cold conditions as our other inspirations of horror/thriller films have similar weather conditions. The use of high key lighting and warm weather conditions would subvert to our product 'Hunted' because it offers a positive image, the representations of thrillers and horrors are to be negative, dark. As the character in our opening sequence is a female, the camera shoots her at low angles to sow her position in the film as timid and vulnerable.

In Twilight's opening sequence they've used a variety of jump shots and fast motion

Viral Network Twitter by Fatima Mohamed

As a way to get more feed we have also made a twitter page to interact with our target audience on the page we will be up loading a sneak peek of a scene, as a way to get the opinion and first through of people. Twitter is a viral way to advertise our work, similar to this we also have a facebook page were we have got may feed back form our target audience.

Inspiration by Mark Reddie

This is the chase for the recent film 'The Twilight Saga: New Moon'. It is a similar genre to our film and it provides a lot of inspiration and gives us a lot of ideas regarding our opening sequence.

There may not be any credits shown in this scene to give us ideas for how we want our credits to be, but it is how we want our chase scene to look like. It is set in a wooded area and we filmed our opening scene in a place with many trees and the main character in our sequence is also a vampire, taking a lot of inspiration from Twilight.

However, in our chase scene there is only one person that is running, rather than someone actually chasing them. Our film also cuts away into another setting every now and then, which this scene doesn't.

Since we are shooting our film mostly outside, props aren't really needed as much.
However, the props that we are using are:

• Bed - this is used in the bedroom scene where the two young boys are murdered. They are in the bed when the hunter kills the two of them, they are sleeping and unaware of the threat that is posed over them.

• Knife - this is once again used in the bedroom scene. However, you do not see the actual knife at all, but you see a shadow alongside the shadow of the murderer. 

• Fangs - these are used for the vampire. In the running scene with the vampire, there is a close-up of her teeth and this is where the fangs become effective and reveal a lot of the film.

Costume List (Mise-En-Scene) by Mark Reddie

Larima Harris would be wearing:

• Black trousers
• Green coat
• Black shoes

All the colours that Larima are wearing are quite dark, even the green, which is more of a forest green. Since the film is going to be shot as it is getting dark, and it is in a wooded area, the blacks and greens blend in with the surroundings and shows that she is trying to hide or run away from someone.

Trey and Chris Harris would be wearing:

• Pyjamas

They are wearing Pyjamas since in the scene that they are being shot in, they are in bed and don't need to be dressed up for a part where a costume is majorly needed. This shows that they are innocent, and sides you with the 'Harris' family, rather than the people that are hunting them.

The hunter would be wearing:

• A hoodie

Only the hunter's shadow is shown in the opening sequence, so a costume isn't very important, but a hoodie covers the head and leaves a fairly plain shadow which reveals nothing from the story about who the hunter actually is.
